The monthly Common's meeting is at the main branch of the Monmouth County Library on the second Wednesday of every month except August. There is no meeting in August.

It starts at 7:30PM and is open to the public.

Archery Practice

Every Sunday at Turkey Swamp Park at 12 pm, as long as the temperature is above 50 Degrees. The field is also open to the public from 8:30am to dusk everyday for (non-SCA) practice. There is a strongly suggested donation of $5 per person to cover the costs of the venue.

Thursday nights 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm.

Indoor Fencing Practice takes place each Thursday night from 7:30PM - 9:30PM For further details, please contact our Fencing Marshal.

Heavy weapons and combat archery practice happens outside in the late spring through fall - NOTE: If the weather looks bad you should contact Baron Corcran to see if it is still going to be held. Contact Lord Ingvar Thorsteinsson called critter (mka: Chris Irons), through the Knight Marshal's e-mail for any other questions concerning practice.

Thrown Weapons Practice takes place on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at Quail Hill in the summer by appointment only. Contact Master Ichabod the Tall, (Steve Rosen) the Thrown Weapons Marshall to make arrangements. Weapons will be thrown! Marshals in Training will be trained!

Directions to Quail Hill:

Quail Hill is located in Manalapan Township in western Monmouth County, almost in the center of New Jersey. In fact, it is situated within 5 miles of the geographic center of the state.

From the shore: Take NJ Route 33 west from Freehold (U.S. Route 9) six miles to County Route 527A (Iron Ore Rd.). Turn right (north) and proceed 1/2 mile to LaValley Drive. Turn right again and follow LaValley Drive 1/2 mile to the gate.

From the NJ Turnpike: Exit #8 from the turnpike to Route 33 east. Proceed east 6 miles to Route 527A. Take the jughandle and proceed north as described above.

Mondays from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the auxiliary gym. (If the Toms River School system is closed due to holidays or weather, there will be no practice on that day.)

From the North or South: Take GS parkway to exit 82, Route 37 East. Continue from * below.

From the West via 195: Take 195 Eastbound to exit 35a, Route 34 South. Take second right onto the GS Parkway South, follow to exit 82 for Route 37 East. Continue from * below.

From the West via Route 70: Take Route 70 Eastbound into Lakehurst. At the second traffic circle bear right onto Route 37 East. Follow to the GS Parkway overpass. Continue from * below.

*Follow Route 37 Eastbound to the second light and turn right onto Hooper Avenue southbound. Pass two lights and take the fifth right turn onto Melrose Drive. Park in the lot there. Enter via door 20, turn right, then left. Pass a short hall on the left and at the next turning is the Auxiliary Gym through the double doors to the left.

NOTE: This is a combined SCA and Markland practice. Marshals(SCA) and Reeves(Markland) available on site for training. Loaner gear available if needed.
