October Commons Business Meeting Minutes

 Virtual Meeting via Zoom with 15 attendants 

Officer Reports:

Seneschal: (Islah) The new Covid proof of vaccination rules are now in effect. Everyone is required to wear a mask and show proof of Covid vaccination or a negative Covid test from within 72hrs of the event. Our next event isn’t until January so we’ll see how things progress.

Exchequer: (Aaron) Current balance is $10,079.95 

Baronesses: (Tysha & Mairghread) GGGG went well, people had a good time. 100 minutes will be our next event.

Arts & Science: (Sara) We had a large display at GGGG. Jeremy won the populace vote!

Chancellor Minor: (Mairghread K) no report was provided

Chatelaine: (Evalina) There were some new people at GGGG. There was lots of interest at Lakewood Ren Faire. 

Chronicler: (Randver) Nothing new

Herald: (Duncan) no report provided

Web Minister: (Randver) Working on converting the website to WordPress.

Social Media: (Vacant) If you are interested in becoming the Baronial Social Media officer, please send a letter of intent with proof of membership to seneschal@carillon.eastkingdom.org

Mistress of the List: (Brigit) nothing new, no new auths at Lakewood or GGGG. No more paper copies, you need to go to the MOL website to auth or reauth.

Captain of Archers: (Elizabeth) Warrant is current.

Fencing Marshal: (Ciaran) Practices are done for the year. Lady Gwen from Settmour Swamp won the fencing championship.

Knight Marshal: (Ioannes) Email letter of resignation has been received. One letter of intent has been received, vote for new officer will be at the November meeting. If you are interested in becoming the Baronial Knight Marshal, please send a letter of intent with proof of membership to seneschal@carillon.eastkingdom.org

Thrown Weapons Marshal: (Ichabod) Email letter of resignation has been received. One letter of intent has been received, vote for new officer will be at the November meeting. If you are interested in becoming the Baronial Thrown Weapons Marshal, please send a letter of intent with proof of membership to seneschal@carillon.eastkingdom.org

Event Wrap-up:

Lakewood Renaissance Faire 9/17/21-9/19/21: (Mary) Haven’t heard from the Lion’s Club to see if they’ve made enough profit this year to continue doing Lakewood in the future.

Ghosts, Ghouls, Goblins, & the Great Old Ones 10/8/21-10/11/21: (Randver) Was fun for all, people enjoyed the Cthulhu theme. The event lost money, -$1,078.67. There were several passion projects that came in over budget plus reduced attendance due to Covid.

 

Upcoming Events:

Bellringers 1/22/22: (Evalina) Bid submitted by Lady Evalina von Schaidag and approved. The theme is Medieval Beasts and Where to find them!

Southern Region War Camp 6/3/22-6/5/22: Bid needed.

Pennsic War 49: (Tysha & Conchobar) Waiting to see if it will happen this year.

Lakewood Renaissance Faire 9/16/22-9/18/22: (Mary) Waiting to see if it will happen this year.

Ghosts, Ghouls, & Goblins 2022: Bid needed.

(Hrafn) Southern Army Sunday practices have concluded for the year. The fighters have been grateful for us hosting.

 

New Business:

(Mary) There is a new group looking to have a sewing competition event. We should do it!
